Luxury watchmaking brand Rolex is partnering with Formula 1™ to become Official Timekeeper and Official Timepiece in 2013. Innovation and precision will be at the forefront of this important alliance. Of this new partnership, Rolex SA CEO Gian Riccardo Marini said, “In our respective fields, Rolex and Formula One embody the spirit of adventure, superlative engineering and a strong desire to push the limits of technology.” He added, “Rolex watches are symbolic of the quest for the highest level of performance and reliability that is epitomized by Formula One.”

As the Official Timekeeper and Official Timepiece for Formula 1™, Rolex will provide the time in various locations during each Grand Prix and their logo will be featured around the circuit during the races.

This latest development is but another chapter in Rolex’s long-standing history with motor racing and speed. For over 70 years, Rolex has been associated with a number of major personalities in the field such as racing legends Sir Malcolm Campbell and Sir Jackie Stewart both of whom were proud supporters of the brand. Rolex was also a partner of the Daytona International Speedway which served as the inspiration behind the Cosmograph Daytona.
